Lots of things...

I decided that it was time to update my blog. Sorry for all the delays in everything. I hope that I have updated everything that I wanted to update!!

Here are some pictures I didn't want to just blog about...they are the random ones!

This was taken at Spencer's 30th Birthday Party. We are such angels!!

Taken when we went to watch a movie at Matt's parents house. That is how close they live. It was awesome!!

Random Times at The Cheesecake Factory

On Saturday night Heather, Jackie, Spencer, Matt and I all went to see this Improv comedy show that a guy that Jackie, Spencer and I work with. It was pretty funny. After the show we decided that we would head to The Cheesecake Factory and eat some good food. Our waiter wasn't the best of waiters that we have had, but he was easy on the eyes (I believe his name was Miguel). It seemed he never came to our table to check on us, and when we were ordering our cheesecake to go (and we emphasized that many times) he still brought all our cheesecake and cakes out on plates. After only eating one bite we asked him to box up our cakes. He seemed kind of irritated about this, but had he been listening in the first place he wouldn't have to do that. When I got back to my gram's (since I am house sitting) I found that my chocolate fudge cake had been haphazardly thrown into the box. It was still delicious!!

As you can see Spencer had to get into the picture!!

Matthew and I

I can't tell if I was trying the whole seduction thing or trying to avoid the camera!!

BOBA

Spencer and Matt decided that we needed to go and get some Boba. What is boba?? It is an Asian drink that is like a smoothie with big tapiocas in it. The tapioca is black and tastes like a mixture between gummy bears and black licorice. You have to drink this drink through HUGE straws. I will go again!! It was so good.
Spencer and Heather with their boba...it is the black thing you can see in the straw.
Me and Jackie enjoying our boba. I will get a different one next time. I go the peach that was a peach smoothie with big boba, little tapioca and then tropical fruit chunks. It was a little too much.
As you can see on my tongue, boba is actually quite big, but delectable!!

Dinner with Sister Catherall

My family had the opportunity to meet Jamie's first companion in the mission field. Jamie absolutely loved Amber Catherall. We decided that since she was going to BYU and so close to us that we should get together and meet her. I had emailed her a couple of times and we finally arranged a time to meet. We decided that we would take her to Jamie's favorite restaurant...The Brick Oven. While there was got to know Amber and see why Jamie loves her so much. She even ordered Jamie's favorite from the menu...The Feast For One. And boy is it a feast. A choice of soup or salad (or for Jamie and Chantele's sake...Super Salad), one trip to the Pasta Bar and a one topping individual pizza. We had a great time and we can't wait to do something with Amber again.

Dad, Amber and Mom

Amber with Madi, Emmie and little Brynn. (Brynn doesn't look too happy)
Amber with Christie and Me

I had to put in a picture of how cute little Brynn is!! She is so adorable and fun.

St George and Vegas Trip

During the first weekend of February Spencer, Heather, Jackie and I all went down to St. George to stay in Spencer's gram's condo. During this trip we went shopping, swimming and went to Vegas. Jackie and I drove down separate from Spencer and Heather and we had so much fun. Not only did we talk and laugh, but we had some great tunes that we sang and danced too. It was a great drive down (and we had as much fun driving home). When we got there we all went to In-N-Out for lunch and then shopping at the Outlet Mall. We had a friend that was in St George for a music convention and we hooked up with her to go to dinner at the Pizza Factory. After dinner we all dawned our swim suits and went swimming where Jackie taught us the best Water Aerobic moves. The next day Aunt Penny came over and hung out with us before we went to Vegas for the day. I was supposed to go to her, but it got so late, that she decided to come hang with us. It was such a nice visit with Penny Spice. I love visiting with her. I know that we will alway have a great laugh when we are together!

Our drive into Vegas was kind of sad and depressing as it was raining the whole way. I was a little worried about walking the strip, but the heavens opened as we pulled off the freeway and it did not rain until we started the walk back down the strip to go home. We went into all the Casinos (and no, there was no gambling), shops, anything that we could. I am not a huge fan of Vegas, but it was so much fun as the rain made everyone stay inside and the guys passing out porn cards were not outside. I did get to go to Sephora where I was in make-up heaven. My friends did not have as much fun as I did. I could have spent hours there and not just 45-min. While we were in Sephora Mecqae and Ruth (the friends that were in for the music convention) met up with us to finish the day in Vegas. We ended up walking to the Wynn where we waited in line for almost an hour to pay $45 to eat an all you could eat buffet. It was seafood night and it was DELICIOUS!! I think we ate ourselves sick. It was good times!! When we exited the Wynn it started to drizzle a little. Jackie had never been to Vegas so we watched the water show at the Belagio a couple of times. By then everyone was soaked to the bone. As we drove back to St. George we were five minutes from the exit to go back to Gram's house when Spencer got pulled over. He was given a warning as the light above his license plate was out. I would never know if mine was out. We had a good laugh as it was about 3am.

The next day we went to church where some guy gave the most uncomfortable talk. Then we were back on the road home. It was such a fun trip and I can't wait to go on another one.
Jackie and I on our way to In-N-Out. Can you see our excitement?
At the In-N-Out waiting to get our orders in. We were a happy bunch!!
Dinner wtih the group at The Pizza Factory. Who doesn't love their breadsticks?? I know I sure do!!
I love, love, love the Sephora!! I wish that we had one closer than Vegas!
This is me before the rains came down!! We actually look good, and not so tired!! Just you wait though! :)
And now you can see how wet I am. My coat did not protect me very well either. I was soaked through and through. It was nice to get in a warm comfy car!!

Ugly Sweater Party

In January my friends and I had an Ugly Sweater Party. Our good Bishop Smart was so nice to host this party. We had over 75 people show up and it was tons of fun. When we sent out the invite we had to remind everyone that it was a POTLUCK and that they were supposed to wear ugly sweaters and bring a POTLUCK item to share with everyone. We did get tons of food and that was great!! Here are some pics from this event.

Since Damien did not bring his own sweater I brought Jamie's beautiful gold sequined sweater. He was hot!! :)Heather made her's and Spencer's ugly sweaters. Spencer did end up cross-stitching his dinosaur onto his.
Other than the retarded face on me, Jackie and I had the best sweaters. Thanks to Aunt Mary Jackie and I were able to dress alike. Everyone loved our sweaters, and you can see why. The only problem? They were so blasted hot!!

It's a First...

The other night my friends from Citrine went to hear one of the girls in our group sing at Liquid Joes. I will admit that was the first time I have ever set foot in a bar. I was a little nervous at first since I have never been to a bar and have never really been around people that drink. It turned out to be a good evening. There was good entertainment, talking and laughing. The poor bartender probably did not make a lot of tips that night as the majority of the group there was LDS. We listened to Erin sing and then stayed to hear another group called Fictionist perform. Rich's son (Rich plays bass in our group) was plying in the band Fictionsist, and they were awesome. During this performance we did have an encounter with a guy that had probably had seven too many drinks.

I had made sure that I was playing it safe by wearing "the ring" so I wouldn't have any un-necessary socially lubricated flirty. The two gals I went with (Hailey and Britt) are both happily married and members of the church. We thought that we were safe, but we still had that one guy come and talk to us. It was a guy that Erin introduced us to before she started to perform. He was really cute, but a little to short and scrawny for me. After Erin was done and Fictionist started playing he came over and started chatting with us. He had a full mug of beer and I was so worried that he would slosh that all over me. He was right in our face and his breath stunk and made me want to gag. The more he drank the louder he got. Him and Britt started quoting Talladage Nights and when he found out Hailey and I had not seen it he invited us over to his house to watch it, as it was so funny. Obviously we declined and tried to get him to go away, but when he put the mug on the table you know he is staying. Rich did come over and talked with us, but after awhile he did leave. The best part was while he was dowing the last of his beer he looked at our drinks (water and Pepsi products) and stated, "You are all Mormons." We told him that we were and then he told us that he was as well and he was an even an Elder. I couldn't think what to say to that, but Britt was quick on her toes and told him that she used to be a Mia Maid. After that we decided it was time to go, and again he offered to let us come to his house, and again we declined. As we said our hurried goodbyes to everyone we raced out to my car to find that it was blocked in by the band's bus. We jumped in the car and locked the doors hoping that Johnny would not come and find us. We did get out of there, and had lots of laughs about the night. Oh...and he did have a stricking resemblance to Michael Scott. If you don't know who that is it is a shame!

I will admit that my mother was a little upset that I went to a bar. I want to assure her, and everyone else, that I ain't no hussy and would not go home with anyone, nor would I drink. If I cannot stand the smell of someone's liquored breath I doubt I would drink the stuff. I also think that I can take care of myself. I am sure that her worry was more in regards to the other people who were drinking that would be out on the road. I was safe, and so were my friends. I think that I would go there again to hear some music, it was a lot of fun!

Brittany and I having a blast at Liquid Joes

Haylie and I also enjoying the good conversation, people watching and music!

These Boots Are Made for Walking...

So I am the proud owner of some new boots!! I have wanted some western boots for sometime and I finally decided what the hay, I'll get them. I had to go to Cabela's and get a bridal shower gift for a girl in my ward. While I was there I went and tried on some boots. I made a fool of myself somewhat, but that is okay. Here is the story behind the purchase.

I had just finished doing an extreme cardio and super sets with weights and was extremely hot, sweaty and tired. I needed to get the shopping done for the shower the next day so I decided I would go after my workout. I had this problem when I workout that I don't really cool down very quickly and my body temp stays hot. I went to the shoe section looking for the boot that I wanted (I had already looked on-line). This really cute clerk comes to help me, and because he is cute, tall and big I start to blush. I don't know about most of you, but when I blush I get hot, and since I am already hot I get hotter. I then start to sweat as my body is in overload. So I try on the boots (which can be a workout) and start talking to the guy (who by the way has no ring) about just random things. During this whole conversation I cannot stop blushing, and then sweating so I decided that I could not talk to him or even try to flirt as I was feeling gross and he probably thought I was some idiot who couldn't stop blushing or sweating. So with a final smile I grabbed the boots and told him I had to go. End of story.

I was mortified later that night as the whole situation replayed in my head, but now I just think it is hilarious. I do love my boots and think they are cute. I want to buy another pair, but will hold off with these ones! (The boots that I went with are pictured below).

One's Man Junk is Another Man's Treasure...

I have been in the process of de-junking and re-doing my room. While in this process I found tons of clothes, shoes and other junk that I no longer need taking up space in my life. On Saturday I decided that while I was out and about it was time for me to take my items of 'junk' to the D.I. I have never been to the D.I. to deliver my own items for other people to purchase. I have been there to look at other people's junk looking for my own treasures, but never to give up my own junk. Since I did not know where to go I decided to park and go inside the store. I had to walk all the way to the back of the store to find an associate that could answer my question. While I was talking to the associate I heard this noise behind me. As I turn to leave I see this old man that is sitting in one of the chairs located in the couch and chair section. The best part was he was asleep and snoring. It was the funniest thing to see. I do not know if he was waiting for his wife while she shopped, looking for a good chair for his own home or just needing a place for a nap. Whatever it was it gave me, and the friends I sent texts to, a great laugh.
